What the release notes say

Faster startup, simpler tool selection, steadier responses, and clearer app views

New features

  • Exec tool selection - Select tools with --only-tools, --add-tools, and --remove-tools, including individual MCP tools or entire servers

Improvements

  • Faster terminal startup - The CLI now overlaps startup work with settings loading so you can begin typing sooner
  • Expanded table viewing - Expanded tables now use more of the window while keeping their scrollbars visible (app)
  • Quiet command efficiency - Long-running commands with little output now use less CPU while running in the CLI
  • Environment panel default - The environment panel now opens by default unless you previously chose to close it (app)
  • Consistent monospace text - Monospace text now uses Geist Mono (app)

Bug fixes

  • Follow-up message handling - Droid now carries earlier instructions forward when several follow-up messages arrive while it is working
  • Droid logo display - The Droid logo no longer shows unwanted scrollbars (app)
  • Desktop download links - Selecting a Desktop download now opens the installer link correctly (app)
  • Stalled response recovery - Improved recovery when a response stops arriving midstream
  • Empty session directory changes - Changing directories with /cwd before your first message no longer leaves the session unable to reload
  • VS Code diff fallback - The CLI now stays open and keeps the inline diff visible when the VS Code command is unavailable
  • Large local file attachments - Oversized or unsupported files can now be attached by reference in local Desktop sessions (app)
  • Background task display - Background tasks no longer cause duplicated status lines or overwritten rows in long terminal conversations
  • Empty response recovery - Droid now retries more transient empty responses before ending the turn with an error
  • Custom model recovery - Custom models can now recover from an initial setup failure when you send a message

Deprecations

  • Worktree directory option - --worktree-dir now shows a deprecation warning directing you to the worktree directory setting
