Features

AI

  • Added an edit_predictions.button setting to toggle the edit prediction button in the status bar. (#66450; thanks z0al)

  • Improved compatibility with the latest Agent Client Protocol, including handling of missing sessions, plan updates, diff formats, and cancellation of permission requests. (#66425)

  • Improved the Agent's read_file tool output by truncating lines longer than 2,000 characters to prevent context window overflow. (#65395; thanks Antphar)

  • Improved subagent cards so that full screen opens a finished subagent run at its start. (#66252)

Git

  • Added optional automatic fetching of the current branch's upstream remote and the default branch's remote. Enable it with git.auto_fetch.enabled; configure the interval with git.auto_fetch.interval_secs (60 seconds by default). Automatic fetching is disabled by default. (#53089; thanks andriygm)

  • Added a resizable "Refs" column to the Git Graph that can be toggled on or off from the column header's context menu. (#66260; thanks RemcoSmitsDev)

  • Improved the reliability of language server and agent downloads with consistent checksum verification, rejection of failed HTTP responses, and better cleanup of partial downloads. (#66048)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a crash when Tree-sitter syntax highlighting failed. (#66474)

  • Fixed a hang in Vim visual-block mode at the end of a wrapped file. (#66118)

  • Fixed Agent context compaction unnecessarily using uncached input tokens with supported providers, including OpenAI and xAI. (#64938; thanks tidely)
