Radar brief — 2026-10-09
A busy 36 hours: Claude Code v2.1.293 ships Claude Haiku 5.5 (claude-haiku-5-5) as the default Haiku model (1M context, $0.10/$0.50 per Mtok; $0.50/$2.50 over 100K) and fixes compaction that could retract finished work. Cline desktop-v0.0.45 restores SSH remotes (broken since 0.…
What the evidence shows
GitHub/changelog-style notes are the majority of this brief (~54% trusted mix). Two sources in the window reported errors; treat HTML changelogs (Factory Droid docs, Augment VS Code notes) as secondary to versioned GitHub tags. Several large notes set bodyOmitted — only listed changes are cited.
agentType on subagentStatusLine; isDeferred on $.tool.register. Fixes: post-compaction redo of finished work; HTTP MCP connection leak; queued message lost on ←; /model effort wrap; /tui Chrome flags; SendMessage / --tools false disables. (+54 omitted)p). /copy, Ctrl+Insert, tui.mouse_scroll_speed. Clickable URLs in prompts. Custom Responses providers: live web + remote compaction. apply_patch keeps CRLF. Linux sandbox + Windows 10 drive-letter / temp-permission fixes. (+132 omitted)/plugin marketplace (skills, MCP, subagents, rules, hooks); agy plugin install …@antigravity-plugins-official and local-dir install. --dangerously-skip-permissions no longer auto-approves /plan plans — it only skips tool prompts.onFailure: "block" for command/HTTP hooks. OSC 7501 program-status. /copy strips > on quoted drafts. Plugin/marketplace commands warn if the settings file they write does not load. Gateway: timeouts.upstream_ttfb_ms, per-upstream models list, forceLoginMethod: "gateway". (+80 omitted)prompt/agent hooks were allowing what they should block. Stop / SubagentStop instruction hooks less likely to halt early.cline mcp add keeps --header through the wizard. cline dashboard → cline hub dashboard (old name is a hidden alias). Dead options now fail as unknown (history --page, schedule --autonomous, etc.) — remove them from scripts.ai 7.0.120 / @ai-sdk/provider-utils 5.0.50. Does not send reasoning.effort: "none" or Claude thinking.disabled to models that reject them. Stdio MCP handles EPIPE; SAP AI Core no longer installs winston’s process-wide uncaughtException → process.exit(1).--model completions. copilot mcp add recovers after interrupted init; enable/disable works before discovery. Assisted permissions send visible shell to the judge. Policy warning when managed settings suppress bypass flags; managed policy can disable Assisted Permissions (Manual Approval).copilot config supports sandbox credential injectHosts keys (Bash/Zsh/Fish completion).cmd-k v / ctrl-k v). agent.max_idle_retained_threads. Google AI overload retries. ACP plan-panel refreshes. (+42 omitted)-sea assets unsigned. Little product-behavior signal. For developers

If you use Claude Code daily, update through v2.1.293–v2.1.295. Use
claude-haiku-5-5when you want the new default Haiku (1M context; watch the >100K token price step). Recheck/modeleffort — wrapping could previously save Low as a default. If you write mods,isDeferred: falseon$.tool.registerputs the schema in the prompt immediately. PreferonFailure: "block"on command/HTTP hooks when a failed hook must not silently allow the action. Re-test instruction-styleprompt/agenthooks after v2.1.294. -
Cline users: treat desktop-v0.0.45 as a reliability + model-default release. If Vertex AI (or the other listed providers) suddenly feels cheaper/faster and less “Sonnet-like,” you were likely flipped to Haiku 5.5 — pin the model you actually want. SSH remote users should skip anything from 0.0.38 up to this fix. CLI users: change
cline dashboard→cline hub dashboard; drop the now-unknown schedule/history flags; re-runcline mcp addif a remote server lostAuthorizationheaders. -
Codex CLI rust-v0.162.0: enable worktrees only on trusted local projects; confirm Linux deny-globs and Windows 10 path access if you sandbox. Custom Responses providers can now turn on live web access and remote compaction — configure those explicitly.
-
Antigravity 1.3.2: if you used
--dangerously-skip-permissionsto rush/plan, plans wait for review again. Browse/pluginbefore pasting MCP/skill bundles by hand. -
Copilot CLI v1.0.94: Haiku 5.5 is selectable. If bypass-permission flags stop working, look for the new managed-settings warning rather than assuming a CLI bug.
-
Terminal UX: Claude Code v2.1.295, Crush v0.98.0, and Factory Droid v0.236.0 all advertise OSC 7501 (working / waiting / done). Useful if your terminal implements it; ignore if not.
-
Stay off prereleases unless you opt in: Zed
v1.24.1-pre, Copilotv1.0.95-2, Augmentv1.2.0-prerelease.*. Zed stable in this window is v1.23.2.
For teams
-
Model-default drift is the team risk today. Cline desktop-v0.0.45 changes defaults for Vertex AI, GitHub Copilot, and several gateways to Haiku 5.5. Copilot CLI and Goose also add Haiku 5.5. Pin models in org/provider settings before the next billing cycle; do not assume “whatever the catalog defaulted last week.”
-
Permission flags are being tightened, not loosened. Antigravity’s
--dangerously-skip-permissionsno longer rubber-stamps implementation plans. Copilot CLI managed policy can disable Assisted Permissions and suppress startup bypass flags (with a visible warning). Factory Droid now prompts when script input is built at runtime. Audit CI wrappers and “YOLO” aliases. -
MCP and hooks are still crashy surfaces — but several hosts just patched them. Cline (CLI/desktop/SDK) no longer dies ~3s after an MCP server or hook exits unread; Claude Code fixed an HTTP MCP leak that retained every request. Re-roll those versions on shared machines before debugging “random CLI exits.”
-
Plugin / skill distribution is expanding. Antigravity’s official marketplace plus Claude Code warnings when plugin commands write to a settings file that does not load: review what gets installed org-wide, and confirm the target settings file actually loads.
-
Kilo Code JetBrains v7.1.9 renames workflows → commands and splits agent guidance into skills. Update internal docs and the bundled CLI pin (v7.8.8).
-
Open radar proposals still sit at P5–P2 (Cline provider pins /
.clinerules, Qwen hosted MCP, utility-model cost, Devin/Windsurf Fusion pins, Grok CLI harness, OpenCode verification videos). None of those are substitutes for the shipped versions above.
What to ignore
- Augment
v1.2.0-prerelease.202610081519: install URLs and unsigned SEA metadata, not a behavior changelog. - Omitted tails (
+132,+80,+54, …): do not infer unlisted breaking changes. - Crush’s release-letter tone (“Good luck, Charm XX”): the evidence is OSC 7501, Grok OAuth, and MCP ping — not a platform strategy shift.
- Factory Droid HTML changelog vs GitHub tags: useful, but it is the noisier source class in this mix.
- Zed v1.24.1-pre and Copilot v1.0.95-2 unless you are on the pre channel.
- Internal judge scores, “mustKnow” as evidence, or any assistant/version not in the JSON.
Watch next
- Whether Haiku 5.5 default flips spread beyond Cline’s listed providers and Claude’s own Haiku default — especially GitHub Copilot surfaces.
- Hook fail-closed behavior (
onFailure: "block") and Antigravity’s plan-approval change: expect broken automation that assumed skip-permissions meant skip-review. - OSC 7501 showing up in three CLIs in one window — terminal vendors and status-line scripts.
- Codex worktrees + sandbox follow-ups (large omitted tail; Linux/Windows permission fixes already landed).
- Zed v1.24.1 stable if Agent Panel terminal-drag and Bedrock custom-model work graduate from
-pre. - The six open proposals, especially team-scoped Cline model pins and Qwen hosted MCP.
How to use DevAgentRadar
This brief is a public snapshot of shipped evidence, not a vendor ranking. Prefer the GitHub/tag rows; treat HTML changelogs and prereleases as weaker. isNew = last 36 hours; mustKnow is a usage-ranking hint, not extra proof. If a note says bodyOmitted, stop at the listed lines. Developers: pin models and re-test hooks/MCP after the versions above. Teams: lock defaults and permission flags in managed settings, then ignore marketing and omitted tails until they appear as versioned facts.
