What the evidence shows

New GitHub-style releases first. Several notes omit a large tail of changes (bodyOmitted); those tails are not reconstructed below. About 54% of the mix is GitHub/changelog versus HTML; 1 source reported errors. Treat HTML product blogs as thinner than tagged GitHub notes. No signal in this batch was tagged must-know.

HTML / docs changelogs (use with more caution):

For developers

• Copilot CLI: If you install v1.0.99-0, treat it as a prerelease. Re-test localhost/private-network commands under the new default sandbox network policy; /sandbox can stay on for this session only. Update any config that still names the browser plugin — it is now browser-use. On v1.0.98, Gemini 4 Argon is in the picker. On v1.0.97, custom-agent hooks are agent-scoped; autopilot will refuse a hook that answers "ask" rather than wait for you.
• Claude Code: Upgrade through v2.1.299 if you leave 200K+ token terminal threads idle — idle compaction is meant to save the one-hour cache (tune with CLAUDE_CODE_IDLE_COMPACT_MIN_TOKENS or "idleCompaction": false). Set CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_FILE_MENTIONS if @file should be a path for tools, not dumped contents. v2.1.300 is mainly for mod/hook authors (virtualText, prompt.change, $.ui.view, /advisor on AWS). Do not assume the 77–84 omitted lines.
• Kimi Code 2.2.0: Stop relying on in-turn background waits longer than 90 seconds. Turn on NotifyUser only if you want mid-turn progress (/experiments or KIMI_CODE_EXPERIMENTAL_NOTIFY_USER=1). kimi app [path] is the new desktop entry.
• Kiro: In V3, run /sandbox before unattended shell work; /autonomous on will force Default agent + sandbox. Keep reviewing commands — the note does not claim full isolation. IDE 1.3.0: /workflow-run plus status-bar sandbox indicator.
• Antigravity 1.3.5: Cycle Auto mode with Shift+Tab on Linux/macOS only. Use /compact when the window is full; Esc cancels. Windows Auto is explicitly not in this release.
• Zed: v1.24.2 is the stable agent-panel/terminal fix; v1.25.0-pre is where Gemini 4 Argon, extra Bedrock IDs, and ACP compaction live — preview only.
• Kilo Code: Expect glob/grep to honor .gitignore again; opt into Search Ignored Paths only for build artifacts you want searched. JetBrains users: this is v7.1.10-rc.4.
• Windsurf: If you used the code-context @ mention, it is gone in v3.10.67. MCP servers that still require initialize may not connect on protocol 2026-07-28.
• Factory Droid: /resume <id> and Ask Side Chat are the daily-use bits; timeout retries should reduce one-shot turn failures.
• Skip Codex rust-v0.163.0-alpha.10.1 and Augment’s SEA prerelease until a real changelog exists. Augment’s macOS -sea build is unsigned.

For teams

• Copilot org policy: v1.0.99-0 auto-installs/updates trusted repository plugins before chat — inventory what “trusted” means in your repos. v1.0.97 makes managed permission rules read-only in /config and retries marketplace fetches with the signed-in GitHub token. Confirm /usage AI Credit reporting after resume matches billing.
• Claude managed settings: v2.1.299 gives installed mods $.session.identity() (org/email when forceLoginOrgUUID matches) and $.prompt.media (bytes of attached images/docs on prompt.submit). Review that before rolling managed mods. Self-hosted runner: --shutdown-drain-sec on SIGTERM. /advisor on AWS is off until explicitly chosen.
• Kiro: Sandbox + autonomous are on for every V3 user, not a flagship-only preview. Pair /autonomous with network-limited sandbox; permission rules still apply. There is an open radar proposal to enable the V3 sandbox with /sandbox (P4, everyone).
• Windsurf / Devin Desktop: Admins can pin an Extension marketplace URL so Desktop only installs from that market. Private-preview remote MCPs are enterprise-level only. Protocol 2026-07-28 is a compatibility gate for internal MCP servers.
• Antigravity Auto mode: Separate-agent review only covers commands that would leave the terminal sandbox. Do not treat Auto as unattended production on Windows (unsupported here).
• Kimi 2.2.0: The 90s wait cap is a behavior break for agent loops that parked on long background jobs.
• Cursor Origin: Marketplace apps auth with app JWTs, installation tokens, and webhooks, and can write check runs/PR comments. That is an Origin supply-chain review, not a Cursor editor release.
• Kilo JetBrains RC: Marketplace error-handler opt-in sends plugin crash/freeze reports to the Marketplace page — decide before broad RC install.
• Open proposals also sitting on the board (not new evidence): Cline plugin sandbox (CLINE_PLUGIN_MODE=sandbox), Mistral Vibe thinking pin + Rust CLI, Kimi NotifyUser enablement.

What to ignore

• OpenAI Codex CLI rust-v0.163.0-alpha.10.1 — empty body; ranking it as a feature drop would be invention.
• Augment v1.2.0-prerelease.202610141517 — installer/SEA packaging only; unsigned macOS SEA.
• Any “+N more changes” / bodyOmitted tails (Claude 77–84, Kimi 24, Zed 32–57, Copilot 3–13, and others).
• Treating Cursor’s Origin marketplace as a Cursor IDE or agent-runtime release.
• Treating Zed v1.25.0-pre, Copilot v1.0.99-0, Kilo v7.8.10 / JetBrains RC, and Codex alpha as stable defaults.
• Internal scores, “notable facts” headers, and marketing copy around Gemini 4 Argon / Bedrock model names beyond the two clients that actually list them (Copilot CLI v1.0.98, Zed v1.25.0-pre).
• HTML changelogs (Kiro, Windsurf, Factory, Cursor) as if they were complete GitHub release notes; one source in this window also reported errors.
