What the evidence shows

Release tags below are GitHub evidence from the last 36 hours. Several notes say further changes were omitted; those are not inferred. One tracked source reported errors this window — treat non-tag pages as noisier than these URLs. The Qwen Code SDK tag is a bundled-CLI dump with most of the body omitted.

For developers

• Cline: Remove CLINE_PLUGIN_MODE=in_process. If plugins vanish, read cline config tools / cline hub plugins instead of assuming a silent hub fallback. Pin a model if you were on an unpinned Cline or third-party default — Argon and several other catalog defaults moved. Cloud sessions are opt-in in Settings; they outlive the editor. SDK/SSH hosts: expect PluginBootstrapMissingError until plugin-sandbox-bootstrap.js exists (CLINE_PLUGIN_BOOTSTRAP_PATH).
• OpenCode: Any workflow that pasted a share URL is dead as of v1.19.1. Stay on 1.x unless you explicitly take 2.x (opencode upgrade --major or the /update 2.0 offer). Homebrew Core is already on the 2 line.
• Codex rust-v0.163.0: Use /config (search, see what needs a restart). You can steer with a follow-up mid-response; interrupt now tears down Code Mode cells too. Check /keymap if Ctrl+X / F9 collide with your terminal. /side and /daemon are real now.
• Claude Code: Toggle idle compaction in /config if the new notices annoy you. Set CLAUDE_CODE_AUTO_MODE_MODEL only if you care about the client classifier. Do not point Read at huge or fake “image” paths — >128 MB is refused. Cap unattended waits with CLAUDE_CODE_RETRY_WATCHDOG_MAX_USAGE_LIMIT_WAIT_MS. If you live in vim mode, % works.
• Antigravity: If Claude 5.5 is missing from /model, that is project entitlement, not a catalog bug. AGY_CLI_OSC7501 controls tab status. Put agy plugin validate --strict --json in CI. Headless -p will not stop for subagent questions.
• Goose: Long chats will compact at 225k tokens unless you change that. Malformed GOOSE_MODE is rejected. Use surfaced x-request-id on provider failures.
• Kilo: Glob/grep will not sneak past .gitignore unless you opt into the ignored-path allowlist. Agent Manager / worktrees need an explicit yes. JetBrains v7.1.11 is the build that bundles CLI v7.8.13; v7.8.13 itself is pre-release.
• Copilot CLI (pre-release tags): --disable-client-telemetry. Expect a clearer sandbox cert-trust path. Confirm /sessions against the unified browser.

For teams

• Default-model drift is the silent cost center. Cline v4.1.25 lists provider default changes (Cortecs, CrossModel, Eden AI, Gemini, Copilot, Vertex, Fireworks, Nebius, CoreWeave, DigitalOcean, Nvidia, and others). If the org does not pin models, quality, price, and data-routing change without a human clicking anything. OpenRouter is the documented exception (still Claude Sonnet 5.5).
• Treat Cline’s plugin move as a security fix, not a cosmetics release. In-process plugins and silent hub fallback are gone on purpose. SSH remote hubs currently cannot load plugins (no bootstrap). Plan marketplace/plugin CI around PluginBootstrapMissingError.
• OpenCode sharing is a compliance event. Disable runbooks, bots, and “paste this link” review flows that assumed share URLs. Separately, freeze who is allowed to upgrade --major so 1.x fleets do not split onto 2 by accident.
• Codex: Daybreak is default for eligible accounts; codex exec can select it with an API key when the server offers it. Resume restores prior permissions/network approvals — managed policy still overrides. The proxy changes (DNS permission, duplicate Host, credential-alias bypass) belong in the security review, not the TUI notes.
• Antigravity Auto mode now blocks commands that would upload sensitive data and auto-allows in-repo format/lint/fix. Subagent questions can block interactive sessions; headless -p will not.
• Kilo JetBrains stopped overriding user permission config and now auto-refreshes MCP OAuth. Require explicit intent before Agent Manager sessions/worktrees. Do not roll v7.8.13 as stable.
• Claude Design standalone (claude.ai/design) is on a 14 Dec 2026 shutdown notice in /design-sync and /design-login — calendar it, do not page anyone today.
• Copilot CLI sandbox traffic can follow HTTP_PROXY/HTTPS_PROXY. Offer --disable-client-telemetry where policy requires it.
• Goose compaction at 225k and “finish pending tools before max turns” change how long unattended agents run and what they cost.

What to ignore

• Qwen Code sdk-typescript-v0.1.20 as a feature drop. The published body is mostly “this SDK bundles CLI version …”, with 89 changes omitted. The only safe takeaway is the managed-memory setting in bundled CLI 0.23.0.
• Cline’s full provider-default laundry list if every developer already pins models.
• OpenCode v1.19.3 reasoning-variant config relative to v1.19.1/v1.19.2 (sharing removal and the 1.x/2.x channel split).
• Pre-release Copilot CLI v1.0.99-3 / v1.0.100-1 and Kilo v7.8.13 unless you already run nightlies.
