Radar brief — 2026-10-25

Windsurf’s Agent Window now runs the same Devin web UI in the editor (must-know for daily Windsurf users), and 13 more new releases landed in the last 36 hours — notably Qwen Code v0.26.1 (breaking qqbot session isolation plus opt-in daemon tokens), Claude Code v2.1.310 (Monitor…

What the evidence shows

New in the last 36 hours (must-know first). Several notes omit a long tail of changes (bodyOmitted); only published bullets are cited.

Windsurfv3.11.212
Key Signal & Impact
Agent Window now matches the Devin web app (sessions, Automations, Review, Wiki, settings, ⌘K). Side-by-side sessions (up to 8), workspace grouping, child sessions, local Files/Changes/Terminal, quote-to-chat, and cloud SSH + app previews. Daily workflow surface, not a patch.
Windsurfv3.11.216
Key Signal & Impact
Org members without Devin Cloud session permissions can use Devin Local again. Windows devin CLI works in a new terminal immediately after install; macOS/Linux reinstall refreshes the link. Local sessions no longer crash on inline terminal images.
Qwen Codev0.26.1
Key Signal & Impact
Breaking qqbot fix restores per-group session isolation under thread scope. Opt-in daemon token persistence (qwen daemon start --save-token) writes an owner-only bearer file. Idle-only manual context compression, OpenTUI/Ink alignment, workspace recovery gating, and unavailable-model picker rows.
Google Antigravity1.4.7
Key Signal & Impact
Hook stdin JSON now includes lastUserInput (prompt screening before the agent acts). Auto mode nags less on routine commands. Headless -p skips index/transcript/status-line work. On-demand MCP tools return up to 10 KB inline (was 4 KB). Opt-in Halloween theme is cosmetic.
Claude Codev2.1.310
Key Signal & Impact
Monitor tool and plugin monitors now work on Bedrock, Vertex, Foundry, and when telemetry/nonessential traffic is off; long foreground sleeps are blocked there too. Retries when gateways reject effort-2025-11-24 or mid-conversation system messages. Fixes: aggressive cleanupPeriodDays deleting recent files, dense-text compaction loops, symlink targets in read prompts, Windows hooks without Git Bash.
Kiro2.34.0
Key Signal & Impact
Local V3 MCP tools can pause and elicit a form/link without restarting the call. Workflow controls, memory deletion from /memories, model picker editor, plus headless MCP sign-in and saved-session work.
Kiro1.4.26
Key Signal & Impact
IDE “Use workflows” control sets how often Kiro starts workflows in chat. Installed Powers more reliable across IDE and CLI; Memory setting’s Off default is actually applied.
Kiro(models changelog)
Key Signal & Impact
Claude Fable 5.1, Claude Sonnet 5.5, GPT-5.6 Terra, and GPT-5.6 Luna are generally available with full Kiro support. GPT-5.6 Sol stays Experimental. Fable 5.1 remains Enterprise in us-east-1. Restart IDE/CLI (kirocrew restart / refresh Web) to load the list. Excluded-models indemnity exception no longer applies to these four.
Factory Droidv0.248.0 / Desktop v0.205.0
Key Signal & Impact
Orgs that disable session-contents sync can still allow storing session titles. Faster composer/settings/slash UI; clearer disabled auto-update message.
Factory Droidv0.249.0 / Desktop v0.206.0
Key Signal & Impact
Faster session open on machines with many project folders; resumable update downloads; startup header now counts plugin MCP servers; Slack channels Droid did not create only see the opening message.
Augment Codev1.2.0-prerelease.202610231517
Key Signal & Impact
Packaging prerelease: Node SEA binaries plus install.sh. macOS -sea assets are unsigned; Linux publishes SHA256SUMS-sea. Not a product-feature drop.
GitHub Copilot(Teams changelog)
Key Signal & Impact
Consolidated GitHub app in Microsoft Teams: notifications plus @github to investigate issues and open PRs. Legacy GitHub app is renamed “GitHub (deprecated)” and retires 16 Nov.
GitHub Copilot(usage-metrics changelog)
Key Signal & Impact
Usage metrics API adds totals_by_client (e.g. opencode, claude_code, codex, zed, copilot_cli, vscode, jetbrains; unknown → other) on 1-day and 28-day enterprise/org reports.

Still relevant this week (not in the 36-hour window; versioned GitHub-style notes preferred):

Mistral Vibev3.0.0
Key Signal & Impact
App-server reports per-model compaction thresholds. Admin-enforceable enable_mcp can block all user-facing MCP ops (including plugin MCP). Desktop can import projects/sessions from another coding agent. Rust CLI: /branch, /leanstall, clickable approvals, OSC 7501 status. Tagged breaking.
Mistral Vibev2.26.1
Key Signal & Impact
Session lock ownership so another client can show read-only. /proxy-setup, /plugins, session-only model/thinking picks. enable_background_processes = false and enable_subagents = false kill those capabilities on the default runtime.
OpenAI Codex CLIrust-v0.164.0
Key Signal & Impact
Ten numbered /presets slots; inline /model and /permissions. Enterprise MCP auth via Codex grants or dedicated sign-in (including OAuth clients that need secrets). Credential masking on remote Bash/Zsh. Failed compaction no longer leaves partial summaries.
GitHub Copilot CLIv1.0.100
Key Signal & Impact
--disable-client-telemetry, --trust-folder for one-off -p/stdin sessions, copilot plugin install "ghapp://…", sandbox proxy honor for HTTP(S)_PROXY, MCP hang no longer stalls sessions for minutes.

Noise / confidence: GitHub Copilot CLI v1.0.104-3 is a prerelease whose body is only “Fixes and changes” — no actionable evidence. Trusted source mix is 54% GitHub/changelog vs HTML; Windsurf, Kiro, Factory, and Copilot blog entries are HTML changelogs. One tracked source reported errors this window — treat incomplete HTML notes as incomplete, not as “no other changes.”

For developers

  • Windsurf daily users: Update through v3.11.216. Treat v3.11.212 as a new primary UI: drag sessions side by side, group by workspace, use Files/Changes/Terminal in the Agent Window, Cmd/Ctrl+L to quote code into chat. If you hit inline-image crashes in local terminals, v3.11.216 is the fix.
  • Qwen Code: If you run qqbot, v0.26.1 is a breaking session-isolation restore — retest per-group threads. Daemon token persistence is opt-in; --save-token writes a bearer token to an owner-only file and daemon stop removes it. Do not enable it on shared machines without reviewing that file’s lifetime.
  • Antigravity: Hook authors can now read lastUserInput on stdin and screen prompts before tools run. Expect fewer Auto-mode approval prompts on formatters/temp-file cleanup. MCP tools loaded on demand can return 10 KB inline — adjust parsers that assumed the 4 KB “write to file” path. Skip Seasonal Themes unless you want the Halloween chrome.
  • Claude Code: If you are on Bedrock, Vertex, Foundry, or have telemetry off, you now get Monitor / plugin monitors, and long foreground sleeps are blocked. If requests failed behind gateways that reject effort-2025-11-24 or mid-conversation system messages, v2.1.310 retries without them. Check cleanupPeriodDays if pasted images vanished; Windows hook users without Git Bash should retest PreToolUse / PermissionRequest.
  • Kiro: CLI 2.34.0 — be ready for MCP elicitation forms in local V3 sessions (fill, follow link, or decline; the tool continues). You can delete memories from /memories. IDE 1.4.26 — set “Use workflows” deliberately; Memory Off is now applied. Restart after the model GA note to see Fable 5.1 / Sonnet 5.5 / GPT-5.6 Terra / Luna.
  • Factory Droid: Quality-of-life, not a behavior break. If updates were “off” and the CLI blamed npm, v0.248.0 now explains the real reason.
  • Do not pipe the Augment install.sh prerelease unless you are testing SEA packaging. macOS -sea builds are explicitly unsigned.

For teams

  • Windsurf orgs: v3.11.216 restores Devin Local for members whose org role has no Cloud session permissions — confirm that matches your intended split, then communicate it. Cloud vs local now share one Agent Window; review whether side-by-side sessions and Remote SSH from the IDE button fit your data-handling policy.
  • Qwen daemon tokens: If anyone enables --save-token, treat it as a credential on disk. Default should stay off for shared CI/dev boxes.
  • Claude Code in enterprises: Monitor availability when telemetry is disabled is the useful part; also retest gateway/proxy paths that previously 400’d on the effort beta header.
  • Kiro: Four models leave Preview/Experimental; the Kiro Excluded Models indemnity exception no longer applies to them. Fable 5.1 is still Enterprise-only in us-east-1. Restart IDE/CLI/Crew/Web so capacity and picker state match production.
  • Factory: If you disable session-contents sync for privacy, you can now allow titles only — set that explicitly rather than assuming titles were already stored.
  • Copilot: Update the Teams GitHub app; the legacy app retires 16 Nov. Finance/enablement should start consuming totals_by_client so Copilot-as-a-backend usage (OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex, Zed, CLI) is no longer invisible next to IDE telemetry.
  • Mistral Vibe (this week, not today): enable_mcp is an admin kill switch for user MCP, including plugin servers — decide the org default before people upgrade to v3.0.0. enable_subagents / enable_background_processes in v2.26.1 are the matching runtime brakes.
  • Codex: /presets is individual today; there is an open team proposal to save shared slash commands in those slots (P5). Don’t roll a homegrown “team presets” process until that lands.

What to ignore

  • Antigravity’s Halloween theme and moon-phase spinner.
  • Copilot CLI v1.0.104-3 — empty “Fixes and changes,” prerelease, no evidence.
  • Augment Code’s curl installer and unsigned macOS SEA note, unless you maintain that binary pipeline.
  • Copilot marketing (“ship code faster without leaving the conversation”). The durable facts are the app consolidation + Nov 16 retirement, and totals_by_client.
  • Any claim about the “+N more changes” tails. Those bodies were omitted; inventing them would be fiction.
  • Internal scores, theme counts, and “mustKnow” as if they were changelog text — the ranking only decided lead order; the release notes are the evidence.

Watch next

  • Whether Windsurf’s Agent Window becomes the default path for mixed local/cloud work, and how permission models keep up with 8-up sessions and Remote SSH.
  • Qwen daemon token files in the wild (opt-in now; defaults matter).
  • Claude Code Monitor behavior on Bedrock/Vertex/Foundry with telemetry off — new control-plane surface.
  • Kiro MCP elicitation in real V3 sessions (forms/links mid-tool) and whether workflow frequency controls reduce surprise automations.
  • Copilot totals_by_client appearing in actual org reports (and what lands in other / unknown).
  • Mistral Vibe v3.0.0 enable_mcp and compaction-threshold API as clients start showing context fullness.
  • Codex /presets + enterprise MCP OAuth-with-secrets; the team-presets proposal is still open.
  • Two other open proposals (Grok CLI harness/TUI, OpenCode verification videos) are P2/everyone and not in today’s release set.

How to use DevAgentRadar

This brief is a public evidence radar, not a vendor roundup. Read Headline for what is new in the last 36 hours; What the evidence shows for versioned facts only; For developers / For teams for actions. Skip What to ignore. Use Watch next as an attention list, not a prediction. If a row has no version, it is a changelog/blog signal and ranks below a GitHub-style release. If a note says changes were omitted, assume unknown — do not fill gaps from memory or marketing.
