What the evidence shows

GitHub-tagged notes are the spine of this brief. HTML changelogs (Windsurf, Kiro, Factory Droid, Cursor) are included but noisier — one source in the window reported errors, and Windsurf’s two “new” versions repeat the same copy. Several bodies are truncated (bodyOmitted); only listed changes are treated as facts.

Trusted mix in this window is about 54% GitHub/changelog vs HTML. Prefer the GitHub rows above when they conflict with marketing pages.

For developers

• Claude Code v2.1.319: If you run auto mode with telemetry or feature flags off, or behind a generic LLM gateway, expect prompt-or-deny on calls the server cannot check. Set CLAUDE_CODE_AUTO_MODE_SERVER=0 only if you still want the local classifier. MCP tasks now background immediately — set CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_MCP_TASK_BACKGROUND if a server must finish inside the tool call. Use permissions.denyInsteadOfPrompting in unattended terminal/subagent runs. CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_FEATURE_FLAGS freezes flags to built-in defaults without killing telemetry. /claude-api latency-optimize is the new eval hook for wait-time.
• Qwen Code: v0.26.9 is the Skills-ops release (ZIP, daemon receipts, TS SDK, bulk 1–100 activation). v0.27.0 is the agent-runtime release (parallel child questions, heatmap, safer shell edits). The TypeScript SDK tag only pins CLI 0.27.0 — do not infer extra SDK features.
• Copilot CLI v1.0.107: Try /code, the unified /settings dashboard, COPILOT_SESSION_CWD, and Fusion in copilot config. GPT-6.1 Terra appears under New models only if the account has it. If you sandbox local MCP, the 1.0.108-1 prerelease is the one that restarts MCP after /cd; PDFs on Grok 4.6/4.7 no longer kill the turn.
• OpenCode v2.2.6: Turn on pool: true for MCP servers you reuse across projects. For scripts/CI: opencode run -w (or --worktree=<name>) and --archived so those sessions never land in the inbox.
• Antigravity 1.5.3: Read subagent model/effort from /agents and status JSON. Plugin hooks should use PLUGIN_ROOT / PLUGIN_DATA instead of guessing paths.
• Kiro: Wire Pre/Post compaction hooks if you need a pre-summary archive or to inject what the summary dropped (IDE 1.4.121; CLI 3.1.0). Sub-agents can read memory (read-only in IDE; parent memories in CLI). Watch /usage and the optional credits segment.
• Windsurf: Use the session … menu for MCP on/off/re-auth. A rejected first local prompt is restored — fix and resend. Click the plan filename before approving.
• Cursor: Voice is a new input/output path for agents; there is no version number to pin in this evidence.
• Factory Droid v1.6.0: /side matches /btw. Steering a message into a background Task should now return the final answer.
• Kilo v7.8.28: Pre-release only. Useful if plugin tools with non-JSON-Schema args currently blow up the whole session.

For teams

• Claude Code auto mode is the fleet-wide landmine. Managed settings that set CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_EXPERIMENTAL_BETAS must also set CLAUDE_CODE_AUTO_MODE_SERVER=1 if you still want the server-side check behind a gateway. Bedrock, Vertex, and Foundry are documented as unchanged. Decide explicitly: keep the classifier (=0), force server checks (=1), or accept ask/deny with no local fallback. Pair with permissions.denyInsteadOfPrompting for headless/teammate runs so a missing prompt does not stall the turn.
• Copilot CLI: Fusion is a config-tier switch, not a price list in this evidence — confirm entitlement before rolling. Sandbox-extensions and COPILOT_SESSION_CWD change where MCP/LSP start; treat that as a policy review. Entra/OneAuth MATS telemetry respects client opt-out. Hold v1.0.108-1 at pre-release unless you need the sandbox /cd MCP restart.
• Windsurf: The VS Code 1.141.2 / Electron 43.8.3 bump is the security reason to update. MCP toggle lives per session in Agent Command Center. Do not treat v3.12.17 and v3.12.28 HTML notes as two different feature drops.
• OpenCode: MCP pooling cuts process count; enable per server after you are sure projects share setup. --archived should be default in CI templates so agent runs do not pollute human inboxes.
• Qwen Code: Bulk skill activation (1–100) with saved preferences is an org-control surface. Daemon ZIP install + receipts are the path for large internal skill packs. v0.26.9 states no known breaking changes; v0.27.0 does not repeat that claim.
• Kiro CLI 3.1.0: You can ship environment default settings, and session/step credits are now visible — use that for cost conversations, not guesswork. Compaction hooks can refuse compaction (exit 2 on IDE pre-hook).
• Factory Droid: Desktop now honors user/org telemetry off — verify the org setting actually sticks after this desktop build.
• Do not fleet-roll: Kilo v7.8.28, Augment v1.2.0-prerelease.* (macOS SEA unsigned), Codex rust-v0.169.0-alpha.3 (empty notes), Copilot v1.0.108-1 unless you need those two fixes.

What to ignore

• Codex rust-v0.169.0-alpha.3 — name-only tag; zero usable notes.
• Augment prerelease — installer/SEA packaging, not product behavior. Unsigned macOS -sea builds.
• Qwen sdk-typescript-v0.1.30 — “bundles 0.27.0 / see commit history,” not a second feature story.
• Windsurf v3.12.17 vs v3.12.28 — duplicated HTML changelog. Count the Chromium bump once.
• +N more changes / bodyOmitted — do not infer security, pricing, or breaking changes from the missing tail. Qwen 0.26.9, Claude v2.1.319, Copilot v1.0.107, OpenCode v2.2.6, Qwen 0.27.0, and Antigravity 1.5.3 all have large omitted tails.
• Cursor voice — real feature, unversioned HTML page; you cannot pin or roll it from this evidence.
