Why it matters

v0.199.0 / Desktop v0.156.0 changes how models and read-only agents are configured. Org admins can pick BYOK custom models as managed defaults for sessions and subagents in Enterprise Controls, and service accounts now appear in those model policies so each account can be limited to specific models. Missions can choose their own models and reasoning defaults in settings, so long-running work no longer inherits an accidental global model. The TypeScript SDK can set a custom system prompt on a session and keeps it when the session resumes, which is the right place to lock team conventions. The built-in explorer droid can now use every read-only tool, including command execution, web search, and MCP tools, while file edits stay blocked—use it for investigation, not edits. Keyboard controls (Space, number keys, Tab) and visible question context make answering agent questions faster; Mermaid and long-session rendering are app-only display improvements, not workflow config.
