Install git-hosted Marketplace plugins in JetBrains Settings and enable Kilo Swarm
JetBrains 7.1.7 adds an in-IDE Marketplace for agents, MCP servers, and skills (npm or git: URLs), Kilo Swarm with a board viewer, leftover worktree cleanup, and editor-selection grounding. Standardize on Marketplace installs and Swarm boards so tooling and collaboration stay inside the IDE.Why this loop
Kilo Code JetBrains 7.1.7 moves agent, MCP, and skill installation into Settings Marketplace, including npm packages and git-hosted plugins (git:github.com/owner/repo@v1.2.3#subdir) with fixes for ~/ paths, failed-clone leftovers, and unused clone-cache deletion. Swarm is now in JetBrains with an Agent Behavior toggle, readable board tool cards, a board viewer, wrap/copy-all, and a warning when posting to a stopped subagent, plus recovery from stale board cursors. Agent Manager adds leftover worktree cleanup with size reporting, git-checkout warnings, safe removal, and copy-path/reveal when nested deletion is blocked. Selected-code prompts now use the active editor selection; large pastes fold only after 15 lines or 4000 characters. Read-only git/gh no longer trigger sandbox escalation; sessions link to PRs without a timed gh pr view probe; new worktree sessions use normal model defaults and the worktree’s own logs and npm configs. Teams should pin Marketplace installs, run Swarm on a live board, and clean leftover worktrees so JetBrains sessions stay isolated and collaborative.
Proposed actions
- In JetBrains, open Settings → Marketplace and install the team’s agents, MCP servers, and skills from npm or
git:github.com/<owner>/<repo>@<tag>#<subdir>; uninstall unused plugins so the cloned cache is deleted when no scope still uses it. - Turn on the Kilo Swarm Agent Behavior toggle, open the board viewer for this session, keep the board open while navigating, use copy-all on long messages, and do not post to a stopped subagent (the UI now warns).
- Run the Agent Manager leftover-worktree cleanup in JetBrains, read the size report and git-checkout warnings, then safely remove unused folders; if nested deletion is blocked, use copy path and reveal.
- Select the target code in the active JetBrains editor before sending a selected-code prompt so the agent is grounded on that selection; pastes fold only after 15 lines or 4000 characters.
- Create the next session inside the worktree so it uses that worktree’s logs, npm configs, and normal session model defaults, and link the session to its pull request without a timed
gh pr viewprobe.

Goal: update our repository's permanent harness instructions based on this release.
Update the file that tool actually reads. Do not dump everything into one file.

.claude/(skills, hooks, settings, agents, commands). It does not read AGENTS.md natively; start CLAUDE.md with@AGENTS.md. - Codex, Copilot, Cursor, Factory Droid, Grok Build, Roo Code, Goose, OpenCode, Amp, Zed, Aider → AGENTS.md.
- Gemini CLI / Antigravity → GEMINI.md. AGENTS.md only if
