Why it matters

The Agent Window now runs the Devin web app UI (sidebar, session view, Automations, Review, Wiki, settings, ⌘K) inside Windsurf, so parallel work should happen there instead of separate chats. Drag sessions onto an open session (up to 8), group the sidebar by workspace and use each group’s “+” to start in that folder, and start child sessions from More so nested work stays under the parent. Every session now has a Files tree, local Changes with “Since last seen”, and a Terminal on the session machine or folder. Three editor defaults flipped and will surprise existing users: Devin no longer auto-opens edited files, Agent diff zones are off so edits write straight to disk, and format-on-save/code actions do not run on agent writes—restore those under Devin Settings → Editor → User Interface if you still want review-before-apply. Worktrees are no longer auto-deleted after 19, so prune them yourself. Use Enter to steer vs Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to queue, @-mention MCP servers, and on Windows pick WSL distros as remote agent hosts.

Suggested actions

1. In the Windsurf Agent Window sidebar, drag a session onto an open session to view them side by side (max 8). Click “+” on a workspace group to start a session in that folder. From any session’s More menu, start a child session so it nests under the parent (Spaces groups also appear under the parent).
2. Open Devin Settings → Editor → User Interface. Turn on Auto-open edited files, Agent diff zones, and Run save actions on agent edits if you want files to open, show reviewable diff zones, and run format-on-save/code actions on agent writes; leave them off if you want edits applied directly with no formatters.
3. While Devin is working, press Enter to steer the running turn, or Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to queue the next message until the turn ends. Use Cmd/Ctrl+. to cycle agent mode, Cmd/Ctrl+[ and Cmd/Ctrl+] for back/forward, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+L to copy a session link, and Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+E to mark a session done.
4. In a session, open the Files tree, the Changes tab with scope “Since last seen” (now works for local sessions), and Terminal from the add-tab menu. Cmd/Ctrl+O opens a local file in the Agent Window, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F searches session file text, and selecting code then Cmd/Ctrl+L quotes it into chat.
5. For cloud sessions, click the top-right IDE button to open a Remote SSH window on the session machine; app previews open in a Preview tab. @-mention configured MCP servers in chat. On Windows, pick a WSL distro in the Cloud / Local picker as a remote agent host. Manually prune git worktrees once a repo has more than 19—Windsurf no longer deletes them automatically.
